Scone Palace

Scone Palace is where all the kings of Scotland were crowned on the famous 'stone of destiny'. Fabulously preserved palace near Perth in Scotland.

The Falkirk Wheel

The Falkirk Wheel was designed to make moving from one canal to another easier. We went up the wheel in a boat to the top canal, through a tunnel then returned down the wheel. An amazing piece of engineering by a Scotsman.

Going up the wheel.
The canal at the top.
Through the tunnel.
This photo shows how the wheel operates.
The Kelpies.
A double noughart slider ice cream-yum yum!!

The Isle of Mull

Stunning scenery & quaint old buildings. Enjoy the pics. I drove on one lane roads with pull-over bays to let cars pass.

Going over on the ferry.

Yummy, scrummy lobster- in NZ crayfish.
Along the waterfront of the harbour were colourful buildings.

The Lakes District

Hill Top cottage-where Beatrix Potter lived. Sawrey village with some of the places she sketched for her books- Peter Rabbits post box; Mr McGregor's vege garden; the farm fields. Ambleside- one of my favourite wee villages with the stone Bridge House- "tea anyone!" Ice cream at Lake Windermere. Lake Ullswater-Outward Bound where I use to work & the hills I use to walk. Keswick-my other favourite wee village.
